Bad News

The Globe is reporting that Lenny having a tough time with his recovery. Next stop: Ancient ChineseAcupuncture Medicine. Whatever works, dude. Keep pushing.

Lenny DiNardo's rehab isn't going as well as hoped. DiNardo, who has been sidelined with a neck strain and was placed on the disabled list May 24, has been feeling tingling and numbness in his fingertips when he reaches a certain distance in his tossing. The pitcher is so frustrated he's made an appointment to see an acupuncturist to see if that will help . . . The news is better for David Wells, whose sore right knee  is starting t

Lenny Lightyear

Scapula_ant The Globe is reporting that Lenny is feeling better...but "pain shoot[ing] through his scapula"...man, that sucks. I don't want nothing shooting through my scapula.

Lenny DiNardo, who has been on the DL since May 24 with a neck strain, was to throw his first bullpen session yesterday. Feeling better from a cortisone shot June 6, DiNardo said he's been progressing, calling his neck ``light-years ahead of when the team left." DiNardo, who estimated he would get about 35 pitches in, said whenever he put his neck back or to the left, pain would shoot through his scapula and down into his shoulder, resulting in numbness and tingling in his pitching hand . . .

DL Update - 6/13

Things have been slow on the DiNardo front. From what I hear (i.e. read on the google news thing I get in the mail), Lenny's walking the slow, slow road back to good health.  After the disastrous Hansen-Pauley weekend, here's hoping it's a quick recovery.

From the Herald:

Lenny DiNardo, who is on the disabled list with a neck strain, threw a ball for the first time in nearly two weeks, but the lefty is not close to being activated. Idle for three weeks since his start in Philadelphia on May 21, DiNardo will require a significant minor league rehab stint to regain arm strength before being activated. . . .

Apparently Lenny did show up at the commemoration of those baseball parks in Boston for Dick Ebersol's kid, Teddy (who it appears was named after our senior senator...good for them). Check out the Pantheon of Sox Greats in attendance:  Remy, Schilling, Rice, Tiant, Timlin...and the big L.DiNardo.

Rookie_of_the_year Get better, DiNardo....and come back throwing like that kid who played for the Cubs, Henry Rowengartner.
